Democratizing culture in the region
Culture is what defines us, what cements and consolidates humanity's sense of belonging, and it is of fundamental importance to the development of societies, in preserving the identities and heritages on which the present is built.
The AML, in conjunction with the 18 municipalities that make it up and seeking to deepen a network of all for all, aims to boost cultural activity throughout the metropolitan region.
The signing of the Letter of Intent for Culture in the Lisbon metropolitan area by all the municipalities, the networked programming and the Mural 18 portal, the course on architectural heritage and urban art, the protocol with the Metropolitan Orchestra and the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of April 25th are examples of the work carried out in this sector.
Publications
Throughout its history, AML has published an interesting range of publications on a wide variety of subjects.
A collection comprising three publications in areas of high technical density (public procurement and the General Data Protection Regulation, for example), another three publications resulting from the Metrópole Science 2016 award (Spaces of infrastructural mediation, uncertainty in the urban process and school urbanism) and many more on various topics (climate action, intermediate qualifications, territorial development, immigration, cartography, heritage, transport and mobility, gastronomy and wine, etc.).
Also noteworthy is the issue of Metrópoles magazine, the complete collection of which can be consulted on this site.
Two comic books were published: An Ocean of Stories and Mountains of Green.
Some publications can be consulted and downloaded online here, others are available for consultation at the AML offices in Lisbon.
