Economic Development
We have a working group to discuss and leverage economic development in the region.Projects and initiatives
Leveraging the region's development
In June 2023, AML formed a metropolitan working group with its 18 municipalities to discuss and leverage economic development in the region.
The four main objectives of this working group are to provide institutional support (at political and technical level), to coordinate actions and initiatives (at municipal and metropolitan level), to disseminate information on funding opportunities, national and European projects and networks, and to train the municipalities' technical teams.
A proposal for a training roadmap for attracting investment is also being worked on, structured around four axes: good municipal practices, platforms for attracting investment, territorial actors and promotion of the region.
Ecotourism - Regional Ecotourism Program
The municipalities of the Lisbon metropolitan area are finalizing a survey of the eco-resources in their territories, following a request from a working group led by the Lisbon Region Regional Tourism Authority.
The result of the work will be the Regional Ecotourism Program. The document will contain a complete list of the region's existing eco-resources, evaluating them as a tourist offer and proposing measures and initiatives for upgrading them in order to add value and guarantee the sustainability of the territories and communities involved.
The working group also includes the Lisbon Metropolitan Area and its municipalities, the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Regional Coordination and Development Commission, the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests and the Portuguese Federation of Cycle Tourism and Bicycle Users.
