AML organized an information session with the National Innovation Agency on funding opportunities in the Horizon Europe programme

AML invited the National Innovation Agency (ANI) to an information session with municipalities on the Horizon Europe 2021-2022 program. The session, held via videoconference and attended by more than 30 municipal technicians, presented the main features of the funding program, which runs from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2027.

The Área Metropolitana de Lisboa is convinced that, in the current context, municipalities can be beneficiaries and partners in initiatives that can bring new and better skills, more funding, new market opportunities, innovative and effective solutions to their local challenges with partners from different areas of research, and new collaborations with regional, national and transnational networks.

The main objectives of the Horizon Europe program are to finance an increase in our industrial and business competitiveness, improve the innovative capacity of companies and institutions, achieve the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and help combat climate change.

ANI is the managing unit of the Horizon Europe program in Portugal, which aims to develop actions to support technological and business innovation in Portugal, contributing to the consolidation of the National Innovation System (SNI) and strengthening the competitiveness of the national economy in global markets.

The Horizon Europe program has a budget of approximately 94.1 billion euros.
