AML and AGIF promote session of the sub-regional commission of the Integrated Rural Fire Management System

Around 40 participants, representing 25 entities - local authorities, security and civil protection forces, infrastructure companies, public transport operators and central and regional administration entities - attended a collaborative session of the sub-regional commission of the AML Integrated Rural Fire Management System, which took place yesterday, April 21, at the headquarters of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.

During the collaborative session, chaired by Helga Soares (regional coordinator of the Agency for Integrated Rural Fire Management), key projects were discussed using the world cafe method.

New information supporting and framing the goals of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area sub-regional action plan was also presented.

The Integrated Rural Fire Management System is developed at four territorial levels: national, regional, sub-regional and municipal.

The main competencies of the sub-regional commissions will be to coordinate the actions of public and private entities in terms of integrated rural fire management in their sub-region, approve the sub-regional action program, submit the proposed sub-regional action program to the respective regional commission, monitor and evaluate the implementation of the sub-regional action program, promote, follow up and monitor the development of the actions of the municipal programs, promote compliance with the communication programs and give an opinion on the municipal programs.
