The Innovation Strategy for the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, which is currently being discussed with the various players, was presented during the Artificial Intelligence and Democracy seminar, promoted by Alcochete Town Council, in partnership with Universidade Nova de Lisboa and the Escola Superior de Comunicação Social.

It should be remembered that the Innovation Strategy for the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, which is being built with the Universidade Nova de Lisboa/InformationManagement School and the municipalities, aims to build a project that places the region on international strategic routes and platforms, in order to accelerate its competitiveness and cohesion drivers.

The seminar, which took place at the Alcochete Cultural Forum on May 6, addressed the multiple relationships between artificial intelligence, governance, citizenship and democracy.

The Lisbon Metropolitan Area was represented by Paula Afonso, on a panel which also included Marco Silva (Microsoft), Paulo Castro (CFCUL/GI2) and Pedro Neto (ISCTE), moderated by Hugo Séneca, from the Expresso newspaper.

New challenges and studies in the use of artificial intelligence in law, ethics, communication science, political studies and computer science were also discussed.
