Foodlink presentation to be streamed on AML's YouTube channel

The official presentation of FoodLink, the network for food transition in the Lisbon metropolitan area, can be followed via live streaming on the Lisbon Metropolitan Area YouTube channel(here).

The presentation session (and its streaming) will take place today, June 7, at 2:30 p.m., from the headquarters of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.

The session, which will be attended by the Minister for Territorial Cohesion, Ana Abrunhosa, will also see the signing of the network's charter of principles and commitments by the 35 or so member organizations and the presentation of the AML Alimenta project.

With the creation of FoodLink, food planning throughout the Lisbon metropolitan area will gain greater relevance in land-use planning and development policies. The network will bring together a diverse set of territories, initiatives and actors in the Lisbon metropolitan area, whose aim is to plan and manage this food system.

FoodLink's vision for 2030 foresees that around 15% of the metropolitan area's food supply can be secured, based on sustainable production methods (organic production, integrated protection and agroecology), innovative solutions (water management for irrigation, reduction of phytopharmaceuticals and soil conservation and climate adaptation) and low-carbon distribution networks and proximity food circuits (which meet inclusion and food safety criteria).
